Reports are out claiming that Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp is chasing Ajax goalkeeper Maarten Stekelenburg.
According to the Daily Mail, the Premier League club have earmarked the Dutch international as a replacement for error-prone Heurelho Gomes.
Publicly, Redknapp has continued to defend the Brazilian despite his growing list of costly mishaps, but behind-the-scenes the Spurs boss is plotting his exit.
Redknapp has already held talks with chairman Daniel Levy about his desire to sign a new goalkeeper ahead of next season and has already informed the White Hart Lane supremo of who he wants to replace Gomes.
Stekelenburg, who has also been linked with replacing Edwin van der Sar at Manchester United, is prominent on Redknapp’s list.
