Manchester United 4-1 Schalke – Video Highlights

Manchester United have eased their way into the Champions League final after beating German outfit Schalke 4-1 at Old Trafford and 6-1 on aggregate.

Man Utd made nine changes to the team that won 2-0 in the first leg last week. The changes made no difference as Valencia and Gibson scored two goals the in the space of five minutes in the first half to double the aggregate lead.

Jurado hit back with a goal for Schalke but they offered little else in an attacking threat throughout the entire game. Anderson scored a second half brace to send Manchester United off to Wembley in style.

The second half saw Man United go into party mode as the Premier League leaders dominated the game and they ensured Sir Alex Ferguson will take his team to his fifth Champions League final.

Bayer Leverkusen 2-0 Schalke – Match Highlights[ 0 ] March 21, 2011 [Translate]

Bayer Leverkusen moved to within seven points of Bundesliga leaders Borussia Dortmund and strengthened their hold on second place with a comfortable 2-0 win over Schalke.

First-half goals from Eren Derdiyok and a Christoph Metzelder own goal earned the home side all three points to take them five points ahead of third-placed Hannover with seven games of the season remaining.

Josef Eichkorn’s one and only game in charge of the Royal Blues ended in a deserved defeat as he was unable to breathe life into a side which has excelled in the cup competitions, but disappointed in the Bundesliga this season.

Ralf Rangnick will take over as coach from tomorrow and he inherits a side which is in the final of the DFB-Pokal and the last eight of the Champions League, but now just five points above the relegation zone in the Bundesliga.

HOLA RAUL | SCHALKE 04 SPANISH FOOTBALL PLAYER WINS THE HEARTS OF THE GERMAN FANS

Spanish Football Players have historically been very timid in their majority in leaving home shores to play elsewhere in Europe, the language & the cultural difficulties have often been cited as importante causes.

That has all changed in the last few years with many Football players going & currently playing in the English Premier League, the Budesliga, Greece, Russia, Italy, Turkey...etc. The fact is that many are doing quiet well indeed for themselves & with their team becoming local stars & heroes.

So much is the adoration towards some Spanish born players overseas that "field chants - songs" have been created by the local fans to cheer them on, the most recent famous example being Liverpool with their ode to Fernando Torres with the local super-hit "Liverpool´s Nº9" before leaving to Chelsea.

Now we have another song getting on the "airwaves" from German team fans SCHALKE 04 & towards their Spanish foward , ex - Real Madrid Captain, RAUL GONZALEZ BLANCO. Spanish musician Rafael de Alcala & German Forster Volker have recorded "HOLA RAUL". Apparently it is a local hit!

The song is the least of the news, great to hear obviously, but not the main point. The caption is that RAUL has settled in nicely with his new Club, has won the hearts of the Schalke 04 fans & is again enjoying playing Football & added to this, is still creating milestones. Thats the big & good news, great story & happy fun song at that...

SCHALKE 04 3 VALENCIA CF 1 (AGG 4 - 2) KNOCK OUT THE SPANIARDS FROM CHAMPIONS LEAGUE

German Club SCHALKE 04 defeated VALENCIA CF 3 -1 tonight ( 4 - 2 agg) to advance into the Q/Finals stage of CHAMPIONS LEAGUE &thus end the hopes of the Spanish Team.

Valencia CF Champions League 2011
Benega for Valencia CF
The Spaniards started well & showed signs of being able to take the match to their territory with promising play. Valencia scored first via RICARDO COSTA with the a header in the 16th min. This woke up the Germans into a more aggressive playing mode as they increased their attacks seeing that they needed to score to remain alive.

The equalizer came via a magnificent free-kick from Schalke Peruvian player FARFAN in the 40th min that gave "wings" to the Germans.

Champions League 2011
Gavranovic scores for Schalke 04

The death blow came for Valencia Cf in the 52nd min when GAVRANOVIC scored the second for Schalke 04 which forced Valencia CF to look for their second & thus be able to qualify with away advantage . This made Spanish Coach Emery put onto the field attacking players like Soldado, Jonas & Tino Costa to go all out to attempt to find the important goal & thus in doing so increased the risks in defence as the whole team bulked forward.

The initial Spanish pressure was halted by Germam goalie Neuer with a couple of miracle saves & a solid defence lead by Metzelder. As time went by the nerves increased for the Spaniards & they took more risks with their set up & attacking plays. They finally paid for this necessary adventure with loss of the ball, Gavranivic hitting the bar & the "killer" final third goal for Schalke 04 from "man of the match" FARFAN in the 92nd min.

The Germans Club Schalke 04 with their Spaniards Raul, Escudero & Jurado continue along the Champions League road.
