Barcelona 5-1 Shakhtar – Match Highlights

Barcelona assumed total control of their Champions League quarter-final tie against Shakhtar Donetsk with a dominant 5-1 win in the first leg at the Nou Camp.

Andres Iniesta set the tone for the evening with a second-minute opener before Dani Alves doubled the hosts’ lead before the half-time whistle.

Gerard Pique added a third soon after the break and, while Yaroslav Rakitskiy reduced the deficit on 59 minutes to give Shakhtar some brief hope, Seydou Keita blasted home less than a minute later to restore Barca’s comfortable advantage.

The returning Xavi put further gloss to an already gleaming result with four minutes remaining to firmly plant one Blaugrana foot in the semi-final, where in all likelihood they will meet arch rivals Real Madrid.
