Blackpool 4-3 Bolton Wanderers – Match Highlights

Blackpool gave themselves a fighting chance of avoiding relegation from the Premier League by coming out on top of a seven-goal thriller against Bolton.

There were four goals in the opening 24 minutes alone, with Kevin Davies putting Bolton ahead and then Matthew Taylor equalising after DJ Campbell and Jason Puncheon had netted for the Seasiders.

Campbell grabbed his second just before the break and, although Daniel Sturridge levelled again for Bolton in the 53rd minute, Charlie Adam’s strike 10 minutes later proved to be the winner.

Blackpool have delighted Premier League fans with their commitment to open, attacking football but even by their standards the first half at Bloomfield Road was something else, with four goals in the first 24 minutes.

Tottenham Hotspur 1-1 Blackpool – Match HighlightsView Comments May 8, 2011 [Translate]

Tottenham failed to fully capitalise on a defeat for Manchester City as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Blackpool.

Spurs knew a win could have taken them to within four points of Manchester City in fourth place, but fell behind in farcical circumstances at White Hart Lane. Michael Dawson handballed to concede a penalty in the second half and Heurelho Gomes saved from Charlie Adam, but within 70 seconds the goalkeeper fouled Gary Taylor-Fletcher to concede another spot-kick.

Adam scored his second attempt from 12 yards after 76 minutes and had seemingly put Blackpool on course for a vital three points. However, Jermain Defoe scored with a minute of normal time remaining. The result means Spurs are six points behind City with three games remaining, ahead of the meeting of the two clubs on Tuesday.

Watch Blackpool v Newcastle United – Live Stream

Saturday April 23, 2011
Kick off: 15:00
Day 34
Bloomfield Road
Blackpool captain Charlie Adam is fit for the Premier League clash against Newcastle after a foot injury scare.
It was initially feared the Scotland midfielder might have broken a bone after getting hurt in last week’s loss to Wigan but the problem has proved to be only bruising.

Newcastle skipper Kevin Nolan will return from suspension for the trip to Bloomfield Road.
The midfielder has missed the last two games after reaching 10 bookings for the campaign, but could partner Cheick Tiote once again after the Ivory Coast international returned from a similar lay-off against Manchester United in midweek.
However, Tim Krul will deputise once again for goalkeeper Steve Harper, who may need an minor operation on his knee, while midfielder Danny Guthrie will miss out with a shin problem.
