Roberto Mancini Glad Wayne Rooney Ruled Out Of FA Cup Semi-Final

Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini is reportedly happy that Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney has been ruled out of next weekend’s FA Cup semi-final.

The FA yesterday upheld Rooney’s two-game ban for swearing into a TV camera – so he misses the clash with local rivals City.

And City boss Mancini said: “At this moment Rooney is not 100 per cent, he is playing at 200 per cent.

“But if he can’t play, okay! We know he can change a game at any moment like when we played at Old Trafford this year.

“That day we deserved to draw or to win and Rooney scored a fantastic goal.”

However Mancini insisted that Sir ALex’s side will still be a force to fear in next Saturday’s Wembley clash.

He said: “United is a strong team, even without Rooney.

“Will it improve our chances? No, I don’t think that. I still think it will be a very good game without Rooney.”

Wayne Rooney Appeals Against Two Match Ban

Reports are out claiming that Wayne Rooney has appealed the FA charge over his F-word rant at West Ham United.

Although the Manchester United striker has accepted the FA charge lodged against his for the foul-mouthed rant into a TV camera at Upton Park on Saturday, he has appealed against the two-match ban that is supposed to accompany it.

The 25 year old England international striker will learn the ruling before tonight’s clash at Chelsea.

“Manchester United player Wayne Rooney has today admitted a charge for the use of offensive, insulting and/or abusive language,” said an FA statement.

“However, Rooney has submitted a claim that the automatic penalty of two games is clearly excessive. A commission will hear the submission tomorrow.

“The charge relates to an incident during his side’s fixture with West Ham United at the Boleyn Ground on Saturday 2 April 2011.”

Wayne Rooney Full Of Praise For Javier Hernandez

Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney has revealed that there is no chance of teammate Javier Hernandez letting his success go to his head.

The England international striker has admitted that Chicharito is one of the most grounded players he’s come across.

Rooney told the United Review: “He’s just taken it all in his stride.

“He’s a lovely lad, who’s always smiling around the dressing room, and on the pitch he’s been brilliant. You can see he’s got a natural eye for goal, but what’s surprised a lot of us is how good he is in the air. He spends ages practicing after training.”
