The Scottish Football Association wants Brazil striker Neymar to apologize after he accused Scotland fans of racism during a friendly between the two countries.
Neymar complained he had been racially abused by Scotland supporters after a banana was thrown on to the pitch while he celebrated scoring the second of his two goals in Sunday's international at Emirates Stadium.
A German tourist subsequently admitted to throwing the banana and London police saying they received no official reports of racist taunts, the Scottish FA has written to request an apology either from the player involved, or the Brazilian FA.
The SFA says Thursday it was dismayed at the allegations which were flashed around the world.
