Buffon dismisses Arsenal link

Juventus goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon has played down speculation linking him with a summer move to Arsenal.

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is reportedly on the lookout for an experienced goalkeeper and Italy international Buffon fits the bill.

However, Buffon insists his future lies with Juventus, despite another disappointing Serie A campaign in which the club are fighting for the final Europa League qualification spot.

"Next year I will still be at Juventus," Buffon told Sky Sports Italia.

"I don't think there is such a possibility of me going to Arsenal. My intentions and that of the club are to continue together.

"It's been a disappointing season, we missed too many opportunities. Now Europe is the minimum target and is a question of dignity."

Juventus Urged Not To Sell Gianluigi Buffon

Reports are out claiming that former Juventus coach Marcello Lippi has urged his old club not to sell Gigi Buffon.

The 33 year old Italian international goalkeeper continues to be linked with a move away this summer.

Lippi said : “You should not sell champions when you have them at your disposal,”.

“I have nothing against Marco Storari, who is an excellent player, but I do hope that Buffon does remain.

“Juventus need him because great players like him are always required.”

Juventus To Offer Gianluigi Buffon For AS Roma Striker Mirko Vucinic

Interesting transfer news are out and it has been revealed that Juventus are preparing a move for AS Roma striker Mirko Vucinic.

It is believed that the AS Roma ace feels his cycle at the club has come to an end and will seek a move away in the summer.

Juve GM Beppe Marotta has confirmed his interest in the striker in recent days and sees him as their prime attacking transfer target, says Sky Italia.

Roma will seek €20-25 million for Vucinic, though a swap involving Juve goalkeeper Gigi Buffon could also be on the cards.

Arsenal To Make Shock Move For Gianluigi Buffon

Interesting news are out and it has been revealed that Arsenal are weighing up a shock move for Juventus goalkeeper Gigi Buffon.

According to The Daily Mail, Arsene Wenger has turned to Jens Lehmann to try and solve his long-standing problems in goal, but the 41-year-old made a less than impressive return for the reserves at Wigan on Tuesday.

Now the French tacticia is considering the Italian international whose 10-year stay in Turin is expected to end in the summer as Juve look to offload his £125,000-a-week salary.

It is doubtful that Arsenal would pay that much for a 33-year-old who has struggled with injury but, surprisingly, there would be no fee for Buffon under a clause inserted in his contract when he agreed to stay with Juve following the club’s demotion to Serie B in 2006.

That makes him considerably more affordable than Pepe Reina, Maarten Stekelenburg and Manuel Neuer who are all valued in the £15-20million bracket.
