Wojciech Szczesny Confident Arsenal Can Win The Premier League

Arsenal goalkeeper, Wojciech Szczesny has declared that the Gunners can still win the Premier League this season.

Arsene Wenger’s men are painfully aware that their club has not won a trophy for six years but the young Polish goalkeeper said: “We’re still confident we can win the league.”

The 20 year old goalkeeper, who is out for a month with a finger injury, added: “I don’t care what people say.

“Manchester United have dropped points, but if we get the right results and we beat United at home, we’re going to win the league. Simple.”

Szczesny blow for Arsenal

Man City have been eased to a best price 8/1 for the Europa League after their 2-0 defeat to Dynamo Kiev last night…

Arsenal will be without Wojciech Szczesny for around six weeks after the goalkeeper dislocated his finger during Tuesday's Champions League defeat to Barcelona.

Manuel Almunia replaced Szczesny, but the injury has left Arsenal short of goalkeeping cover.

They are already without Lukasz Fabianski and Vito Mannone and are hoping to arrange emergency loan signing.

"We need an experienced goalkeeper as cover for Almunia," said Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger.

"We can call Mannone back from Hull, but he is not available," Wenger added. "We have Wojciech out. We have Fabianski out for the rest of the season. We absolutely need some cover in goal."

Almunia, who was tipped to leave Arsenal in January, now finds himself as Wenger's number one.

"He is very professional, has a very dignified attitude and overall he has done very well," the Arsenal boss said.

"Yes, he has done quite well when he came on against Barcelona - he was quite busy in the final part of the game and he did very well."

"When I took Jens Lehmann out, who had made only one mistake, and put Almunia in, Lehmann came in the next day and fought even harder. That's what I believe our job is about."
