Arsenal's New Young Talent Mature & Ready

His first season in the Premier League after his £12 million summer move to Arsenal has given Gunners fans a tantalizing taste of what the future holds, and with two goals today against Blackburn, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is certainly not shy of enforcing his promising power in the present day.

The 18 year-old has looked skillful, dangerous and coolly composed even under pressure which was demonstrated in a fantastic performance against relegation battlers Blackburn as Arsenal cruised to a 7 - 1 win at the Emirates. His manager, who spotted this raw talent a few years ago whilst the youngster began at Southampton, was impressed with how much Chamberlain has progressed in such a short space of time.

Wenger believes that despite not being ready for first team Arsenal football when he first joined the club, the improvement witnessed has been exceptional, with maturity coming out in his game along with his personality. The manager believes that in the next three months will tell us more about what Chamberlain has to offer. He said:

"The next three months will tell us. We live in a world of immediacy. Everything is instant. In September, I could not expect him to be so mature because he was still a boy. Now suddenly it looks like he can take pressure."

"He has the personality to produce under pressure. But he has still only played one game at the very top level so let’s see how he does."
An extended run in the Arsenal team will certainly be a benefit to the enthusiastic young Englishman as he looks to assert a regular position in the side. Minus Andrei Arshavin who is severely lacking in confidence or support and therefore likely to leave the club in the summer, Arsenal's youngster has a big opportunity to add to his 12 appearances and four goals in a red shirt.

His talent is clear, but it is yet to be seen as to whether the former Southampton youth player can make an effective impact in an England shirt in the upcoming Euro 2012 competition.

The buzz around the player is continuing to grow on the back of this performance against Blackburn, more and more people are suggesting he would be a decent addition to the international line-up. Wenger has seen this situation before with Theo Walcott picked for England and not being used, but would not dismiss Chamberlain's chance for the country. He said:

"I do not want to rule it out [Euro 2012]. Just because you are 18 years of age does not mean you should never play. At the same time after one good game you cannot say he has absolutely to go. You have to see what he will produce. We will see in the next three months. Why not?”

“For an English national team player you have to be at the top level by 18. Rio Ferdinand, John Terry, Wayne Rooney, Steven Gerrard — they all played at 18. One or two come in later but the basis of the national team are players who started at 18.”
Despite his excellent form, Fabio Capello would be rather reluctant to throw such a young player in at the deep end at the Euro's with the heavy expectation of the nation, and would certainly require to see him in a few friendlies before the such a competition this year.

His performances and obvious talents shown this season would seem to put him ahead of Walcott in the squad, but the other Arsenal winger who also put in a good shift at the Emirates this week-end is more experienced and settled in the England team, giving Capello a big decision to make.

Nevertheless, already Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is looking like an exceptional buy for a club renowned for finding promising young talents. Wenger will be careful not to overplay him, having learned his lesson through Jack Wilshere's stress fracture and extended period out of action, but will certainly be encouraged to make the most out of his new English starlet hungry for success.

Arsenal Ready To Sell Samir Nasri To Real Madrid

Interesting transfer news are out and it has been revealed that Arsene Wenger is preparing to cash in on Samir Nasri.

The Sunday Mirror has reported that talks about a new deal for the French international remain in deadlock.

The former Marseille star has one year left on his contract and Arsenal will not allow the agreement to run down further – that would mean the France star would become eligible for a free transfer.

Arsenal will recall paying the price of seeing Mathieu Flamini depart on a Bosman free transfer three years ago.

Both Real Madrid and Manchester City are keen on Nasri, whose contract status means that he would command a cut-price fee of around £10m.

Arsenal would prefer to sell Nasri to Real Madrid if he rejects their own offer – rather than see him embellish rivals City’s formidable squad.

Roy Keane Ready To Return To Management

Roy Keane has declared that he is ready to return to management.

Keane, who has dismissed talk of working in Australia or New Zealand as “nonsense” says he is enjoying his longest break from the game but could be ready to make a return next season.

The former Northern Ireland midfielder has admitted that he has learned mistakes from his spell at Ipswich Town.

Keane told the Daily Mail: “I want a club to take to the very top. Sunderland was so close, even in my third season there, we just had a few poor results which every manager goes through.

“I am a young manager, and you are always learning tactically. I would have to look at my staff, that is a vital part of football management, and you need to work with good players, that helps. And we had some really good players at Sunderland.

“You need good characters. I would learn from my mistakes particularly at Ipswich and I think potentially I could be a good manager. But potential is one thing. Going out and doing it is something very different.

“If you don’t make mistakes, you never learn. I had a three month break after Sunderland and Ipswich felt right. My only regret is I agreed to take it before I met the chief executive, I won’t be doing that again.

“Sometimes the DNA doesn’t work and doesn’t suit. Look at Roy Hodgson, and I’m not comparing myself to him, but him at Liverpool, the dynamics were not right and Ipswich in the end was just not right and the chief executive role is vital when you are working with someone so closely.

“I have been out for a couple of months and I am enjoying my bit of time off because part of my problem, is when I am involved, I am involved 100 per cent and that takes its toll on you; not that I am going to keel over but it is time to re-charge the batteries and take stock and see what is round the corner.

“A club might give me an opportunity but if it doesn’t come I have some freedom and I will make the most of that.”

Silvio Berlusconi Ready To Splash The Cash On AC Milan

AC Milan patron Silvio Berlusconi has declared that he is ready to spend big once again this summer.

AC Milan have become the most successful club in the world – in terms of trophies won – thanks to the Italian Prime Minister’s money and he’s ready to get his chequebook out yet again.

“My family has invested an average of €50m a season in Milan,” he said.

“That figure was €70m last year and I promise to continue with my costly habit of giving gifts to the Milan fans.”

Berlusconi made the headlines last month when he claimed that he is interested in signing Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo, but he now admits that may not be possible.

“Everyone likes Cristiano Ronaldo and Barcelona’s Lionel Messi, but the Spanish game is rich and has different tax laws,” he added.

“As a result, it is hard to get into a bidding war with Spanish clubs for the greatest players.”

Arsene Wenger Not Ready To Change His Principles

Arsene Wenger has sensationally declared that he will not change his approach, despite defeat to Bolton Wanderers.

The Arsenal manager conceded their title tilt is over after the loss.

The French tactician told arsenal.com: “If you can convince me that the principles are wrong, then I am ready. But I feel we try to play football the proper way. When you don’t win, your principles are questioned. You always have to take the right distance to see what is right and wrong in what you do. I think if something is wrong in our team, it is not the principle of playing our football.

“I am convinced we are a very good footballing side. We have not been stable enough defensively. The numbers are the numbers, we have conceded six goals this week at a moment where you cannot afford to conceded six goals in three games and win the championship. We were too frail defensively during the season.”
