In the first leg of the event FC Barcelona defeated Real Madrid by 3-2, and although it was Madrid who took the lead through Prolific scored Ronaldo, they could not keep up the pace and gave away 3 goals and were losing 3-1 but a mistake at the back by Barca keeper allowed them to stay in the match as they snatched a late away goal to make it 3-2 on the night and they should be favourite going into the 2nd Leg.
Real Madrid are coming into this match on the back of a bad defeat in the hands of Gatefa in the opening match of the league, and in this game too they took the lead first but gave away two goals to lose the game and jose Mourinho will be furious with that.

Barcelona Want Arsenal's Vermaelen?
Considering how strong, constant and solid Thomas Vermaelen has been in the Arsenal defence during his time at the club, it would come as no surprise that he has gathered a few admirers.
Indeed it would be silly to think clubs have not watched him and imagined him in a shirt representing their own side, so perhaps news that Barcelona are eyeing him up for a summer transfer should be taken seriously.
Barcelona are reportedly looking for another central defender to bolster the back-line, and have considered several options with AC Milan's Brazilian centre-back Thiago Silva, being their number one choice.
However, an offer of over £30 million from Paris Saint Germain has already been rejected by Milan, and it is thought Barcelona will not be willing to spend that amount on a 27 year-old defender.
Now they have, so the Daily Mail say, turned their attentions towards Arsenal's defensive talisman, Vermaelen. Arsene Wenger of course will not entertain the prospect of losing such an important player to Barcelona, and will, like AC Milan, reject any bid made for the 26 year-old Belgian defender.
Furthermore, only a few days ago, Vermaelen effectively committed his future to Arsenal, by saying rather definitively: “I will stay at Arsenal forever. There will be no transfer for me. I love London. I’ve got a house there, I’m happy there and I don’t see any reason to ever leave the club."
Unless Wenger suddenly decides there is no need for Vermaelen in his side, and Vermaelen has a sudden and extreme change of heart, Barcelona will have to look elsewhere.
So it seems that if the story is true, and Barcelona are interested in the former Ajax man who has spent three seasons at the Emirates, they will have a lot of persuading to do, and will need a significant amount of money to spend. Otherwise, this seems a no-go for the former European Champions.

Barcelona 4-0 Espanyol Highlights Messi 4 Goals Video 5 May 2012
In the Spanish Primera liga game we had Barcelona taking on Espanyol and it was the last home game for Pep Guardiola who will be leaving at the end of the month and it was a sublime performence by the home side who ran riot or should I say Leo Messi ran riot yet another time as he scores 4 goals in the single game to win the game for Barcelona.
[ Barcelona 1-0 ]Messi puts Barca in front! The free kick took a nick off Baena en route to the back of the net, but only one man is claiming that!
[ Barcelona 2-0 ] Messi scores from the penatly spot to make it 2-0 in the night and its his 70th goal of the season. Epic !
[ Barcelona 3-0 ] Messi scored his third of the night to complete his hatrick with a great finish and its his 71st goal of the season. Is he human ?
[ Barcelona 4-0 ] Messi scores again from the penatly spot to make it 4-0 for Barca and its his 50th league goal of the season and total of 72 goals this whole season in all competitions.

Chelsea 1-0 Barcelona Highlights Drogba Goal Video 18 April 2012
In the Opening leg of the UEFA Champions League semfinal affair between Chelsea and Barcelona we had a great game as Barcelona took the game to Chelsea but did not had their shooting boots on under the rain in west london. They created a few good chances and missed all of them while Chelsea were more clinical in front of the goal as their only good oppertunity was buried home by fans favourite Didier Drogba who manages to get a goal just before the halftime interval.
After the break Barcelona again started their passing game and waited for the perfect oppertunity while in between Chelsea did had their counter attackes setup and they could have scored another to make it a comfortable night in Camp Nou.

Its Chelsea who took the lead at the halftime as Didier Drogba scored a goal just before the halftime to make it 1-0 for Chelseas.
Drogba. Ramires does brilliantly, after Messi, yes Messi, had given the ball away, racing down the left before crossing for the striker to ram home! Chelsea 1-0 Barcelona!
Although it was a very even half where Barcelona created more chances as they went on to miss some sitters as well on the way but eventually it was the home side who took advantage and scored a goal in the injury time of the first half.
Chelsea will be delighted to lead at the break. Sure they're ridden their luck, Sanchez hit the crossbar, Ashley Cole cleared one off the line from Fabregas

In the Spanish la Liga matches to be played on Saturday we will have two of the title challengers in action, with Real Madrid taking on Osasuna in the league match at around 19:00 BST while Barcelon will be taking on Athletic Bilbao in the league game. Barcelona are in great form at the moment, they have won all of their previous 5 league matches which puts them in a position to really challenge Real Madrid for the title in coming days and with El Classico still to be played at Camp nou we can imagin this title race going to the wire. Barcelona will have all their key players back in the squad and it will take a mighty step from them to get over Athletic Bilbao side who are in great form at the moment.
If we look at the past 5 meetings between the two sides we can see that Barcelona hold a upper hand as Bilbao never defeated Barcelon in the last 3 years and although they are playing really well But sine they have to travel to Camp nou to face Barcelona, I can not see them getting anything out of the match. Real Madrid 1-2 Barcelona Copa Del Rey 2012 Highlights Video
In the Copa Del Rey Quarter final match to be played on 18 January 2012 we will have Real Madrid taking on FC Barcelona in what will be a huge game in the cup competition. Real Madrid are coming into this match on the back of a a great run of form and they will be eager to draw the first blood as they take on them for the first leg of the match.
Real Madrid has only won twice in the last 12 games they have played against Barcelona, and although they are playing some sublime football this season, they just cant win somehow against their arch rivals and they will be looking to keep the god run of form going. Cristiano Ronaldo has been critised so much as his performences against the Champions have been blow par but his coach Jose Mourinho said that he has no issue with that and he went on to say that Ronaldo is playing some great football, scoring goals and hattricks and you can not ask much more than that.
FC Barcelona are kind of a team who are having a great season, although they are not as compact as last year but they do have this capability of getting wins in big games and that is why they will be confident of going into this match and actualy winning it against Real Madrid, although Pep Guardiola will be content with a draw in this match.

FC BARCELONA - CESC FABREGAS | AN NEVER ENDING STORY
Watching a popular late night SPANISH FOOTBALL TV programme the other night one of the journalists invited said: ..."the Cesc Fabregas operation isn´t so shut case as it seems". In fact, the journo went further & said ..."It is all taking longer than expected to shut the transfer of Cesc to Barcelona".
Food for thought, especially as one reads a few headlines in todays Spanish Sports press. The first piece is from "AS" which publish that FC Barcelona has offered to pay for the Cesc Fabregas transfer in quotes. That is, 9,5M€ (25 % of the offered 37,5 M€) now upfront & the rest in negotiated periods. Problem is ARSENAL asks for 44M€, & the clear fact is that FC Barcelona, believe it or not, has a cash problem, that is , only 45M€ to make signings & they are talking about Cesc, Sanchez & who knows who else. If I was Arsenal, I may be in my right mind to think if Barça is in fact seroius at all about signing Cesc Fabregas
![]() |
Cesc Fabregas |
But there is more to this extended signing story. Today "Sky Sport" publish that REAL MADRID may have entered the picture & has approached ARSENAL without any "fancy financial formulas" claiming that Madrid think that 45M€ looks good to them. First instinct is to find out if this is at all true, that Real Madrid in fact has made a move or its Arsenal turning the screws. Secondly, it could be Real Madrid attempting to give their rival a hard time as it is a habitual manoeuvring behaviour used by both sides to "sit it up" the other. Thirdly, it could be all genuine as what Real Madrid really do need to spice up their squad is a creative midfielder with characteristics of Fabregas.
The player will independently need to seriously consider & think about his future beyond his "heart-strings". What is almost certain is that Fabregas at FC Barcelona will not be the "star" & will spend time on the bench. While at Real Madrid Cesc Fabregas could become the "engineer" of the team, get a firm & steady place & become a real undisputed World Star.
I still believe at this stage that Cesc Fabregas looks more closer to becoming a FC Barcelona player than for any other Club. But it is true that the "getting Cesc to Barcelona" operation is taking too long & this naturally gives rise to questions & some doubt. Stay tuned!

Barcelona talks with Sanchez continue
Gino Pozzo, the son of Udinese owner Giampaolo Pozzo, has confirmed that talks are ongoing with Barcelona regarding the sale of Alexis Sanchez.
It emerged earlier that Manchester City have apparently pulled out of the race to sign the Chile forward.
City boss Roberto Mancini implied that Sanchez was not worth more than the £30m bid City are reported to have submitted and that is why he has pulled out of the race.
But Udinese say that the 22-year-old was only interested in joining Barcelona and talks are still taking place with a view to the winger joining the European champions.
Pozzo told gazzetta.it: "Negotiations continue with Barcelona. We are waiting for the evolution, even if it's quite a complex deal.
"We continue to work only on (one) table because with Manchester City we never opened the deal; the guy just wants Barcelona."
There is still the possibility that Sanchez will stay at Udinese and Pozzo has not ruled that out.
"The option that Sanchez remains in Udinese is always valid and if the boy decides to stay we would be very happy," he said.
Reports have suggested that Barcelona are attempting to agree a deal for Sanchez which would involve Jeffren joining Udinese.
The Spain Under 21 international is understood to be unhappy at the prospect, but Pozzo said: "It's not true that he refused to come to Udinese, we have not yet talked to him."

FC BARCELONA - REAL MADRID TRANSFER RUMOURS - SIGNINGS 2011 | DIRTY FILTHY TALK
Thought I give readers today a brief run down of the hot rumours & gossip doing the SPANISH FOOTBALL circles at this moment, & that are taking up pages in the local Spanish Sports papers. As habitual, the two Football Clubs that take up most of the talk are FC Barcelona & Real Madrid with both full of "juicy back room" talk & exaggerated assertions. However, before we launch into local "transfer talks" allow me to remind you that they are just that, dirty & filthy local gossip :O)
![]() |
Rossi of Villareal |
The hottest rumour in town is that VILLAREAL Italian-American foward ROSSI is very close to shutting a deal with FC BARCELONA. The 18 goals this season in La Liga by the Italian International has won over Barça Coach Guardiola who sees Rossi as a great addition for Barça next season. The rumour is so hot, that some obversers have bravely gone on a limb to say the Rossi has an "agreement" with Barça, & that now Villareal has to put a price & sell. I would not go so far, but I do say that this piece of news has been lingering for weeks & that it gets stronger all the time. Stay tuned!
![]() |
Thiago of AC Milan |
News that has jump into the Spanish Sports press is the possible interest of FC BARCELONA in AC MILAN Brazilian International defender THIAGO SILVA. With Barça defender Gaby Milito leaving, Carles Puyol now a veteran with knee concerns & Adibal just recovered from cancer surgery, Barça needs a new signing for the defence & Silva Thiago is the rumoured chosen one. The price is not cheap, around 25M€, & AC Milan will certainly have something to say in all this process.
To end with Barça, Cesc Fabregas keeps sounding for the midfield.
![]() |
Lass Diarra of Real Madrid |
REAL MADRID is the Club that many consider is the next destination of Argentine International & Atletico de Madrid star SERGIO AGUERO, but his 45M€ + signing price means some current Real Madrid players will need to go in order to help finance the operation.
One of those tipped to leave is midfielder LASS DIARRA. Coach Mourinho wishes the Frenchman to stay, but Lass wants a permanent playing spot & with new signings Sahin & Antiltop coming, he sees himself sitting again on the bench next season more than he wishes. Thus, the player is seriously listening to offers from JUVENTUS & MANCHESTER UNITED, the latter being rumoured as a personal preference.
![]() |
Gonzalo Higuain for Real Madrid |
If Sergio Aguero was indeed to arrive ( not at all certain) to Real Madrid, the Club would have to let go one of its current forwards. Benzema is linked to Arsenal, but the Frenchmen does not wish to move & Adebayor looks like returning back to Manchester City if the latter does not drop the players 17M€ price tag to around 8M€. This leaves GONZALO HIGUAIN who has Italian Club JUVENTUS very interested & may make a "mega offer" to convince Real Madrid & player.
Said this, I doubt Higuain will leave & if I had to bet on a forward leaving the Club, I would bet on Adebayor at this moment. That is, if Sergio Aguero does fulfil the talk of many local media observers who say his next destination is Real Madrid.
Lastly, young Real Madrid midfielder SERGIO CANALES is sounding for Villareal & defender GARAY is sound for Benfica ( to help lower the cost of Benfica defender COENTRAO)
Stay tuned!
