Mancini keen on Ibrahimovic

Zlatan Ibrahimovic

Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini could attempt to sign Zlatan Ibrahimovic this summer as he builds a squad to compete in the Champions League.

Having secured fourth place in the Premier League after a 1-0 win over Tottenham on Tuesday night, City are already looking ahead to next season.

And with uncertainty surrounding the future of Carlos Tevez, and Mario Balotelli and Edin Dzeko not making much of an impact since his move from Wolfsburg in January, a striker could be a target.

Ibrahimovic is currently on loan at Serie A champions Milan from Barcelona and the Swede has said he wants to stay at the San Siro, but a City bid could change the situation.

Mancini, who won the Italian title with the 29-year-old at Inter, said in The Sun: "If Zlatan wants to come to City, I would immediately find him a place."

There has also been speculation about Balotelli, a £24m signing from Inter last August, amid suggestions that the Italian is homesick.

But Mancini, who left the 20-year-old as an unused substitute against Tottenham, said: "He will definitely stay. Mario is an ongoing bet.

"He has shown he has all the right qualities, but needs to do more, much more, to give a sense to his talent."

With qualification for the Champions League assured, Mancini can now turn his attention to Saturday's FA Cup final against Stoke City on Saturday.

"Our target at the start of the season was to qualify for the Champions League and reach a big final - so we have managed to do that," added Mancini.

"As I said when I arrived, in two or three years, Manchester City can become one of the top clubs in Europe. We have everything you need to do this.

"Now we must think of the weekend. This latest win will give us a lift for Saturday."

AC Milan To Offer Zlatan Ibrahimovic In Exchange For Cristiano Ronaldo

Sensational news are out and it has been revealed that AC Milan is ready to use Zlatan Ibrahimovic as bait to convince Real Madrid to sell Cristiano Ronaldo.

Corriere dello Sport has reported that the Italian giants are prepared to sign the Swedish international from Barcelona and immediately send him to Real in a sensational swap for Cristiano Ronaldo.

It is said that Milan are willing to pay Ronaldo €15 million-a-year to move to the San Siro, where Ibra is currently the top earner on €12 million-a-year.

Milan president Silvio Berlusconi expressed his frustration with Ibra this week after the striker was sent off for the second time in two games.

The Rossoneri must cough up €24 million to buy Ibra outright from Barca – and the Spanish champs could refuse to sell if they are convinced the Swede will be facing them in Real Madrid white next season.

Manchester City To Swoop For AC Milan Striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic

Interesting news are out claiming that Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini is on the trail of AC Milan striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

The former Inter Milan boss is believed to be fed up with the antics of Mario Balotelli and may look to bring Ibrahimovic to Eastlands in the summer.

Balotelli has continued his headline grabbing behavior since coming to England from Inter Milan and Mancini wants him to turn things around otherwise will go after the prolific Swede when the transfer market reopens at the end of the season.

29-year old Ibrahimovic is on a season-long loan at the San Siro from Barcelona and has managed to score 14 goals in 27 Serie A appearances which may force the Rossoneri hobnobs to buy him out for £26million.

However it is believed that Mancini may try to lure him to Manchester as it is likely he will spend up again and the former Malmo, Ajax and Juventus star could be the beneficiary of a big-money offer from City.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic Red Card Against Bari – Video

AC Milan striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic was sent off in their 1-1 draw with Bari.

The former Barcelona striker was shown the red card for a reaction foul when the Rossoneri were losing 1-0 at San Siro.

Ibrahimovic had a nightmare game, seeing a goal disallowed for his handling offence and then sent off for a reaction dig in the ribs.

AC Milan boss Max Allegri was clearly disappointed with the striker and said : “Unfortunately he reacted. Zlatan was calm during the week and wanted to get back to scoring from open play. He moved well, but he mustn’t get so irritable if he hasn’t scored in a month.”

The Swedish striker will now miss next week’s trip to Palermo.
