Manchester United keen on Hazard

Manchester United are interested in the highly rated and much sought after Belgian attacker, Eden Hazard of Lille, Sir Alex Ferguson confirmed.

The United manager was speaking to a French radio station when he confirmed his interest in the 21 year-old which first team coach Rene Meulensteen alluded to a few weeks ago.

Meulensteen had said that Ferguson wanted to see Hazard play for himself and described him as a "special talent." It is now clear that Sir Alex was impressed with what he saw, saying:

"I was at the game and watched Hazard, as well as other players. That's part of my job, looking at good players. Hazard is a very good player and has a lot of qualities. He's particularly quick over the first ten yards."
Clubs across Europe have also been quick to praise Hazard and announce an interest in the explosive attacking midfielder, with Arsenal, Tottenham, Manchester City, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich all supposedly interested in the player.

The interest is understandable considering the talent and potential he has shown this season for Lille in the French Ligue 1, scoring an impressive total of 18 goals and assisting 14 in 43 games. This sort of talent will however, come at a hefty price, with fees of up to £40 million being quoted from his club, having accepted that this is his last season in France.
