"My adventure with Arsenal is over"

Arsenal will bid farewell to the 27 year-old goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski this summer, with the Pole telling reporters in Poland that he hopes his career at Arsenal is coming to an end, with people working on his behalf to manoeuvre a departure.

Fabianski has been playing infrequently due to the establishment of Wojciech Szczesny as Arsenal's number one in goal, and has therefore been restricted to only six appearances during the 2011/12 season - none of which have come in the League. He said:

"I hope that my adventure with Arsenal is over. I told the boss my opinion, what are my goals, etc. He spoke too. At this moment I want to focus on Euro 2012, but the right people are already working on my departure."
The Arsenal number 2 joined the club in 2007 from Polish club Legia Warszawa, but has never been able to pin his name regularly on the team-sheet, having made various mistakes throughout his Arsenal career.

In five seasons playing for the North London club, Fabianski has played 62 games, keeping 18 clean sheets and conceding 67 goals.

A new start for a goalkeeper with a reputation in England for either injuries or unreliability would be a good career move, as he certainly will not be getting game time with Arsenal as long as the strong, reliable Szczesny remains fit.

Manchester United Solve Midfield Problem

Manchester United have once again solved the problematic prospect of not having Paul Scholes in the midfield, by getting Paul Scholes to stay in midfield.

The 37 year-old midfielder announced his retirement from playing duties at the end of last season on the 31st May 2011, to begin a coaching career with United.

However, he reversed that decision in January after admitting to Sir Alex Ferguson that he had made a mistake, and slotted right back into the United midfield for 20 games of United's 2011/12 season.

Despite turning 38 in November, Scholes will play on for yet another season with the club where he has now amassed an astonishing 696 appearances. Sir Alex Ferguson confirmed the news:

"It's been done. I’ve spoken to him and he’s staying. I’m delighted. He knew he’d made a mistake. He now realises that if he plays 25 or 30 games next season, they’ll be of real quality. We know our player very well. We’ve had him since he was a kid and we know how to use him.”
His passing is still as precise as ever, his composure on the ball still as ice cool, and his vision very much remains a key asset to both him and the Manchester United midfield.

His presence will retain the creativity and reliability which United have come to know and enjoy and to a certain extent rely on, and although he is likely to play a smaller role in the United first team next season with a midfield signing highly likely, Paul Scholes will remain a huge and influential presence yet again.

M'Vila to Arsenal - "Not True" says Wenger

Reports that Arsenal are "seriously considering" a club record deal for Rennes' French midfielder Yann M'Vila are premature and untrue according to Arsenal's manager, Arsene Wenger.

Rumours have been growing that not only had Arsenal made signing the highly rated 21 year-old defensive-midfielder a priority, but that the player had told friends that he wants a move to Wenger's side even if they fail to qualify for the Champions League next season.

However, Wenger has countered this speculation by insisting that no such interest exists, no contact has been made and no player is close to signing for Arsenal at the present moment. He said:

''It is not true. There is not any interest at the moment."

"We have not been in touch with anybody, we have not made any offer to anybody and we are nowhere near to buying anybody at the moment. We are focused on our final game of the season."
That final game of the season is away to West Brom, and a win must be achieved to secure third position in the League and therefore a Champions League spot next season.

Both Tottenham and Newcastle are close behind fighting for a third place finish, all well aware that because of Chelsea's chances of winning the Champions League trophy and therefore automatic qualification for next season, fourth place may not guarantee European football.
